Family Benefit’s Home

 Our current Office Building

In July of 1979, we purchased the building above for $101,000 ($2,000 less than we sold home number three).  Our home office is currently located here.  For some time it was a work in progress, as we added the second floor in late summer of 1989.

Our expanded facility provides us with the space to serve you effectively and efficiently.  With continued growth, we will in a few years consider adding a wing to this building – we have the grounds to do so.

Our First Three Homes

Family Benefit Life Insurance Co. commenced business October 29, 1964 with a President and two employees.  Our first agent’s training school was November 4-6, 1964 with twenty-one licensed agents.  Ten of those agents are still licensed, but sadly eleven have passed away.

On our first day of sales, eleven agents wrote business totaling $212,000.00 face amount.

December 31, 2002 we had completed our 38th year of operation with Assets of $54,630,361.00, Capital and Surplus of $6,673,786.00 and Premium Income of $4,607,651.00.

Our first office building.

Our first office home was rented in October 1964.  We began with two employees and our goal was to keep expenses as low as possible.  Rent was $100.00 per month, which included all utilities, except for telephone service.  How’s that for economy?

Our second office building.

In the spring of 1966 we moved to another rental space in the former school building pictured at right.  We smile while saying, “inflation was creeping in” – rent soared to $125.00 per month.

Nevertheless, these quarters served us well until November 1973.  Our employees increased to four while we were here.

Our third office building.

A rare opportunity then presented itself in the purchase of a building for $60,000.00.  We had some surplus room so we rented part of the basement to the printing firm we used.

This proved to be a good investment because we were able to sell it for $103,000.00 in July of 1979.
